    Federal Ammunition

I recently got rid of my 25/06 for a 6.5x55, I have using factory federal 140gr ammo and every roe I have shot has ran 60-150yds, unless it has been head or necked. Has anyone had any issues with Federal ammo not expanding well. All the chest shot have been broadside and unaware of my presence.

140g fusion and you won't have that problem

What distances were they shot at, and did you recover any of the bullets??
Might be worth checking out the knowledge base on terminal ballistic research,
they reckon the factory loads run as low as 2400fps causing them to pencil through without expanding.
Time to get some dies and reload for it.

I use Federal 150grain in .308. I have had only a very few deer shot so far in my stalking career, but they all dropped, no runners.

Had some trouble a few years back using 130gr Federal Fusion in my .270.
One hind I shot ran 200m before it dropped.

They where not expanding properly & just punching a neat hole straght through.

That definitely shouldn't happen. Which bullet please and at what distances are you shooting your roe?

Federal Powershok in 22-250 55gr, .243 100gr, .270 130gr and .308 150gr has to be one of the best performing bullet I have used and will still use. Never had an expanding (or not) issue.

Position and hold must be firm enough to support the firearm
The firearm must point naturally at the target without any undue physical effort
Sight alignment (aiming) must be correct
The shot must be released and followed through without disturbing the position
