Good morning all -
Have just joined the Forum.
Have been involved for some 16 years after moving to a part of the UK thick with deer and wondering how they were managed.
I did BDS Level 1 (now DMQ1), followed by the BDS Practical Experience Module before joining a DMG here in West Berks. BDS Advanced Stalkers' Course at Cirencester was followed by DMQII some years later. Have been a DMQII Accredited Witness on the BASC list since the start of the scheme.
My approach to deer management: First, think. Once you've shot it you can't rewind time.
My favourite advice for beginners: use the best binoculars you can possibly afford and don't just look at deer - there's a whole natural world out there!
