    .243 & 30.06 non american powder alternative

I have been using hodgon h4895 to load both .243 & 30.06 but due to supply problems finding it hard to source h4895.
What is a good non American alternative please.

Depending what weight of bullets you are using in both, I would have suggested Viht 140 for lighter bullets and Viht 160 for the heavyweights.

    Vectan Tubal 3000 and/or 5000.

Obtainable from Henry Krank and others.

There is also the Ramshot powders which although are American are made in Belgium. There is quite a gap between burn rates but the hunter and magnum look interesting.
    If I wasn't 100% Viht I'd have a look at them.

The following is part of an e-mail received from a good (French) friend living in Belgium:

Ramshot powders are produced by Poudreries Belges de Clermont (PCL in the reloading books) which was part of SNPE (Nobel France) in the past and now is belonging to the EURENCO group (Vihta Vuori,...).

Their former name was PCL (on the belgian market) and they had a good reputation for accuracy and consistency. Unfortunately they were not widely distributed as I guess they were aimed to the military market.

Since a few months it seems that the sales strategy has changed and they bear the "American" style names in place of the PCL ones, to achieve a much greater prominence in the commercial sector.

Hope this helps clarify matters. ATB

Accurate arms 4350. T Will work a treat in both of those chamberings! Tr140 is also a good powder.
