Thread: The Perfect Zeroing Target?

  1. #1

    Question The Perfect Zeroing Target?

What does everyone look for in the perfect zeroing/load development target?

We have always had a few available for download which I personally don't like all that much and was thinking about redesigning one for download.

    Personally I like:

    • A clear, bright 1" aiming point/bull
    • A clear grid background pattern (1" or 2cm depending on scope) so I can calculate adjustments from a distance
    • A cross centred on the bull to help with crosshair alignment

An area for recording load details etc. is also handy. Marked section above the aiming point for zeroing over (1 inch above? 2 inches above)?

    What are people's thoughts?

Personally quite like the middle one on that link.

The pattern makes it very easy to centre crosshairs etc. The only real downside is any target with large areas of black a. is a @#'! on printer ink and b. can make it hard to 'find' bullet holes.

Maybe something along same lines but with a bold yet easy to see bullet hole colour scheme? Though to keep it complicated, I do prefer simple black and white - or shades thereof.

I like this one but the size of the squares does depend on how it prints outClick image for larger version.

We use 20mm grid squares on a sheet 4 x A4 size, with a red circle in five positions white clear spot in centre, (20mm), it would lend itself to single A4. see avatar.
