    I thought (not ever having tried it) that if you set off some ammunition without it being in the confines of a firearm, it goes phut and isn't too dangerous. Am I right?

    There was a vid on youtube showing ammo put onto a fire very little risk

    even lower if they were in a 'fire proof cabinet'... bt then again the were 'high calibre' rounds so extra dangerous

    Ha ha, no doubt high calibre, full bore sniper ammunition.
