    Lamp filters cleaning

    Anyone can help me on how to clean up scratched filters so can get a bit more light through? Thanks all atb joe

    Try a mashed up avocado. Believe me it works! Just mash it up skin and all and rub the ensuing gloop over the surface of the filter

    Failing that, one of the headlight restoration polishes.

    Costs about 5 from any caravan dealer - eat the advocado.

    Brasso or Duraglit if I remember right will do the job.
    Then when it's nice & see through again use wax furniture polish on it.

    Dump the filter and apply stained glass paint (red or green) to the inside of lamp cover if LED powered and the outside if halogen.

    Be interesting to see you whip that of in a hurry with a fox trying to leave asap.

    Once it is clean, or you've invested in a new one, put a shower cap over the lamp when its not in use to save it from subsequent scratches.
