South Of England Deer Tracking Group
    Deer dog training day

We are setting up a deer dog training day on the 29th November 2009, the purpose of this day is for us to try and pass on the knowledge we have gained from a Kim Schou Jorgensen. Kim is an experienced hunter and deer dog trainer, heís also a member of Denmarkís Schweiss register, they are a small elite group of hunter/trackers who specialise in retrieval of wounded deer.
Those of you that have seen Kim work his dogs will know what we mean, those of you that havenít and would like to, will see him at the next group session he is doing at stoneís deer dog day in February 2010. (Richard correct me if Iím wrong)
Its not all about high talent., its about a group get together to exchange advice, and knowledge and a lot about practice, on low level, i.e 3 hour old trails over 400 meters, so if you like to give it a go or would like to join the group, please PM me to discuss it further. We are limited on numbers so let us know ASAP
Lunch, tea and coffee will be provided, any donations towards the cost would be gratefully received
Located 6 miles west of Newbury, on the Hampshire, Berkshire border

    Regards Anthony

glad to see you are going to pass on what you hav learnt
and South of England will go from strength to strength as that is what it is all about
hopefully will hav a date sorted shortly for next feb/march and that should also with any luck set off the rest of the regional groups into swing
2010 looks to be a good year for those interested in learning about and training a dog for deer work

    Briar and all,

Donít worry if you canít get to the south training day as part of the idea with this is to start groups all over the country which will of course include the midlands, north, Scotland etc.
If any one is interested in joining the northern group let me know either via pm or through paintandpins. I will properly host the initial day on our estate in Cumbria, on a date in the near future but places will be limited so handlers and dogs get the best from the day.
