    online firearms application/renewal, trials

Hi All, was reading somewhere about certain counties doing a trial with online firearms applications and renewals, but not heard much of it since, anyone know how they got on, did it happen and was it a success?

This was the latest state of play I read:

23 Forces are interested in being in Phase 1 of the roll outs, starting with Wiltshire in September 2013, followed by
Surrey, Staffordshire, North Yorkshire, Hampshire, Dyfed Powys, North Wales, South
Wales, Gwent, Dorset, Cheshire, West Mercia & Warwickshire, Lancashire, Leicestershire,
Derbyshire, Sussex, Gloucestershire, Thames Valley, Avon & Somerset, Devon &
Cornwall, South Yorkshire and Humbershire. Another 12 forces, plus Scotland are
interested in taking eCommerce for policing at phase 2.

Additionally I found this on the Web which may be of interest.............http://govstore.service.gov.uk/cloud...licensing-7035

West Yorkshire are noticeably invisible on the above list. They'll be doing something totally different for a change.

We are aware of the proposal, but hadn't the time to go into detail and firearms fees, GP reports/fees, forms etc are taking up todays time. eCommerce will take soem time to come to fruition. In any case those forces who have signed up are the minimum requrie to carry out an ACPO pilot...... fingers crossed that it works and al sign up.
