    RWS .22 Subs

Bought a box of RWS .22 Subs to try, had a right old job trying to get them in the mag due to them having more lube on them than Durex. They shot as tight as the normal Winchester subs I use and a head shot is a head shot but what does all that snott do to the rifle long term.

The first few rounds of Winchesters went all over the shop after the RWS then settled down to normal.

Not one for cleaning the Brno too often but do I need to between such different types of ammunition ?

    Any comments ?

Probably best to clean the barrel as you don't want two different bullet lubes in there.
I had the same trouble after trying out some cb longs.
Cleaned the barrel, 4 shots later and sorted.

inclined to say "if it ain't broke......."
the lube only becomes an issue if it becomes an issue.
it will get blasted out the barrel every time it get a bullet shoved up it.
the chamber and feed lip will be more relevant

when you say they wouldn't go in the mag what do you mean? slippy to handle
my mags don't touch the bullet itself

Just a different type of lube on RWS ammo that doesn't seem to solidify and always feels slippery. They shoot O.K. in my CZ but the groups are not quite as tight in my rifle as when using Eley subs. RWS is still good ammo though and their high velocity stuff is simply superb out of my CZ with by far the tightest groups of any .22 ammo that I have ever used.
It's the calibre of the shooter that counts not the calibre of the rifle.

When I tried to loads them in they kept slipping through my fingers, more so when I had some tension on the mag spring. The hole case is slippery unlike anything I have used before.

FWIW, RWS are the most accurate HP's out of my CZ.
