    Texas Rag Goose Decoys

    Hi All

As the title suggests I was wondering if anyone has any experience of using these types of decoys for pink footed or greylag geese? Was looking for a cheap way of adding some movement and bulk to the decoy pattern but not worth putting off what does come in.
As they are only socks basically I would be looking at putting a wooden head and 'backbone' in it to keep it shapely even in no wind conditions.

Anyone with experience of these - or looking to get rid of some decoys for cheap!?

    Thanks

We use them and have done so for a few seasons now, saves all the need for bulky hard to carry decoys. They certainly do work that's for sure, we pack about 30-40 into a holdal with no issues. One thing though, don't store them where any mice can get in, the little buggers chewed up the socks on half of ours last year!

    P.S.

You don't need wooden heads on them.

    Thanks for the reply.
Did you get them from anywhere in particular? The only place I have found them advertised is www.justwads.co.uk

Glad they don't need heads but do they not need some sort of backbone to keep them from going a little droopy if the wind dies? Also do they make any noise like a bag flapping in the wind?

Can't remember where we bought them, think it was the states to be honest! They are designed to be used in wind and it doesn't take much to get them going! They do make a little noise with a strong wind but nowt to worry about.
