BASC is running two projects on the unblocking of shooting websites, one on the mobile phone network and the other on broadband internet.

Any reports on blocked websites would be most useful, whether on this thread, by email to me at conor.ogorman@basc.org.uk or via the webpages linked below.
The more examples of incorrectly categorized websites received, the more likely it will be that similar sites won’t be blocked in the future.

Weblinks, with summaries of the two projects are below.

Broadband internet - report blocked shooting websites to BASC
Some websites have been automatically categorised as over-18 by TalkTalk’s filtering software, HomeSafe. As a result, those sites may be blocked when the parental control programme is turned on. TalkTalk is now working with BASC to help improve access to websites with content about lawful shooting interests. Use this briefing to report blocked websites to BASC. We will then let the website owners know and ask Talk Talk to remove the restrictions.

Mobile phones – report blocked shooting websites to BASC
Some shooting related websites have been incorrectly categorized as ‘over-18’ by content filters on mobile phone networks. As a result access may be blocked from some mobile phones. You can help BASC fix this problem. Use this page to report blocked websites to BASC. We will let the website owners know and also ask the relevant network provider to whitelist the site.
