    fancy recticles

They make all these rifle scopes with fancy recticles that clutter the view, how many of us actually use the aiming points, I do at 1000yds but dont bother any other time,Ive got mil dots, illuminated recticles yes, great idea

Am a bit of a luddite. I don't shoot at long distance and therefore they have no value for me. Each to his own but for normal stalking in the Uk I would have thought not really necessary.

If you could self calibrate a series of small mill dots or secondary crosshairs that corresponded 100% with the rifle/calibre POI in question I can see the point.

I've got the BR reticule on my Swaro, and know that the first 3 lines/blobs are 100, 160 & 210 yds...

Anything in between is then judgement, but it's a great starting point for me.

On my 6x42 S&B on the .270, the point where the vertical and horizonal lines meet in the middle is 100, 160 & 210 yds - much simpler!

Hi fart, them aiming points are pretty useless when most cals will shoot out to 200yds with poi 1.5 inches high at 100yds, atb swaro

Why? I'm zeroed at 100yds, not 1.5" high, and as I say, it works for me

I only use my mildots at 1000yds for windage mainly so I know how many moa I need to adjust, when somewhere handy i do the odf click to fine tune, if the mildots are used properly you are ment to be able to use them as range finders.

Blimey. FAR too complicated for me, which is why I use a rangefinder!!!
