    Cost of bagged wheat.

I'd be grateful a rough indication of the cost per tonne for bags of feed wheat delivered in bulk (say between 5 and 10 tonnes). Thanks.

    Usually buy it ex farm
varies year to year month to month day to day
    prices published in farming mags
but 150 to 160 per tonne collected at present.

You mean tonne bags or 25kg bags?

Section 161 of the Highways Act 1980 (England & Wales) makes it an offence to discharge a firearm within 50 ft of the centre of a highway with vehicular rights without lawful authority or excuse, if as a result a user of the highway is injured, interrupted or endangered.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, it would be pheasant feed. Probably 25kg bags, as the only storage would be a garage.

When you arrange a work party for syndicated shoots you will always find that is the best day NOT to meet other members. We had a shoot captain that could drag a deer out of a ravine but could only claim a bad back when asked to carry wheat to a hopper.

5t=you are gonna need a bigger garage!!. as per members not turning up-we are lucky as it is expected and need good reason not to be there, but talking to other people work parties always could reason not to show up!!

If you want it delivered in small 20Kg bags you will be paying double
    the cost of bulk bags,
    1 tonne is a pallet full of 50 x 20 Kg bags

expect to pay 6 to 8 a bag.

little and often is the best way to feed pheasants
(and other birds..mice..rats..squirrels deer badgers )

best to ask local farmer to get you 1/2 tonne a month
in a bulk bag , then bag it up yourself,
unless your syndicate is rich, then order mixed wheat and bird seeds
which is excellent but will cost 10 to 15 for a 20Kg bags
