Covering the holes where the iron sights came off....

Is there a standard solution with which to cover the little screw holes where iron sights have been removed? If it wasn't for these my M65 would be perfect.

Melt coloured wax into the holes.

Or cut a piece of O ring and stick it in the holes.
It's the calibre of the shooter that counts not the calibre of the rifle.

    +1 on the above...that's what I did.

It can be a bit hard to source the right colour of wax though.
The blueing on my rifle is black really and asking for black candles makes you look like a devil worshipper or something .

Let me know if you are stuck and I'll send you some.

Hadn't thought of that. I'm in Edinburgh next week where there is still some residual Goth pollution, so black candles should be relatively easy to find....

    Thanks.

    Yep, Cockburn Street

I'm 10 miles West of the city, can meet up if Cockburn street doesn't have it.

I hadn't really thought about it being a problem before (though it isn't very pretty!), but do I like the wax idea.

    Decent m
rifle makers included blanking screws. My Mauser M96 Slide Bolt came with them fitted into the scope mounting holes for those who like to use iron sights. P-H also fitted them.
