    Disapointing Day today

Well, after returning form my very long and hot summer overseas, fitting the new S&B PM2 last week and zeroing I though today would be a good day to christen the new look rifle.

(Last Week, on arriving at the ground, I was tripping over Roe Does )

Anyway, parked up, loaded up and off I went, round the normal routes, glassing all the known deer populated areas, glassing those that I have never seen a deer in, just in case, nothing, very disapointing indeed.

I did the circuit twice, probably covering 4-5 miles in total. I got barked at by 2 Roe, never saw them and got a whistle from a Sika, again, not seen.

Gutted to be honest , but you can't win them all . I'm out again on Saturday, taking my brother out, hopefully things will improve.....

Registering for my L2 at the moment so need to brush up on my skills, by the looks of it, I need to brush up LOTS!!!

Nevermind TJ, there's always next time.

Half my enjoyment of stalking is getting a nice long walk around the coutryside (which is pretty lucky in that I've only had 2 beasts in god knows how many outings!!)

    Better luck on sat!

Bit too windy today mate I think. I had a look around tonight and saw nothing either. Too warm in the woods to come out I reckon.

Now i am not trying to teach you how to suck eggs mate but 4-5 miles in my opinion in the wood is far to far.I my self only cover a 1/4 of that and feel that is plenty. When i want to go a walk i take the dog and a camera when i want to go deer stalking i only move from spot to spot occasionally. It has worked for me and can be an effective way of filling the freezer
