bolt handle and fluted barrel (threaded M14) comes with Hilver 1" rings

Not sure what's meant by 'has been a sleeper ...' unless you've owned it from new (i.e. no previous owner).

M55's from Tikkakoski didn't have fluted barrels I'm certain. Has this been fluted, or rebarrelled perhaps?
If I'm going to be accused of it then it's just as well I did it.

Mine's fluted and clearly marked Tikka . Approx 1985 manufacture .

Have to agree with Waterford, I've seen a M65 Trapper that came as standard with a fluted barrel, built in an era when accountant's didn't control the quality.

Sleeper... A rifle that is basically in what could be termed “unused condition”.

It is the original fluted barrel (fitted on production early 80's)

Third from the top.. note the fluting just below rear sight runs just beyond fore-end.

I stand corrected. Thankyou for the early catalog & pic. which I haven't seen.

My two are the 2nd from top..... but years later, when Tikka finally got round to offering a single Lefthand M65 action model. I count myself lucky, as one has the sporter barrel contour and the other the HB 'Continental' beefier job.
