    Pillar bedding a synthetic stock

Wondering if pillar bedding my synthetic Steyr MkIII pro stock is do-able (SSG style stock). I have had a few wood stocks epoxy bedded in the past and like the results. Also the barrel on this rifle seems to favour one side of the stock more than the other and although it doesn't seem to touch the perfectionist in me would like to find a solution. Will do myself if someone can recommend a method.

    Dont bother

the stock is too flexible and the bedding compound wont stick properly to the base material.

It can be done but you need to drill into the stock a to make sure you get a good lock between the bedding compound and stock. If I was you I would read the how too/instructions that are in the 2 links as the prep work can be applied to most bedding compounds.

Use this to stabilise the hollow fore end

    MatchGrade Synthetic Stock Stabilizer

    and this to bed it

MatchGrade Bedding Kit - Terminal Ballistics Research

If you order both it will cost about 45 inc shipping to the uk and takes about 10 days to get here.

Interesting! Do you know how much weight these compounds add to the stock?

The stabiliser says you get 200 grams, but average stocks take 150 grams.

Do you know if the stock stabilising compound and the bedding compound is the same? I wonder if there would be enough of the compound left to bed a second rifle?
