    Dog Shoots Man

Having been reading the last topic about bolts open/closed on photos I remembered an incident where a dog stood on a gun and it went off with expected results. Then curiosity got the better of me and I typed in "Man shot by dog" into Google........

I was beating on a local shoot yesterday, loads a money guns, it was a 350 bird day. At the end of the last drive one of the guns had just laid his gun on top of his cartridge bag with the barrels closed pointing to a gate that everyone needed to walk through. Was it loaded? We shall never know but how easy would that be for someone to have their legs peppered by a dog treading on the gun. You couldnt blame the dog could you. I see incidents like this from time to time on large shoots. It just shows that wealth does not give on ounce of common sense.

No, but sometimes I think that the average keeper/beater isn't prepared to give a toff a good grilling over it! If it was the likes of you and me we would soon be told, but nobody wants to upset the men with money. Not always the case, but I'm sure you see what I mean?

Sorry Sariel, it was not meant to sound that way BUT if you take into consideration the amount of shooting they do possibly in comparison to the average person I would expect a little more consideration.
On the other hand the majority of people walked past the gun instead of circumnavigating it without a thought. There you have it. It can apply to all walks of life.
