Modded an Ultrafire 501B torch tnite

After seeing a few threads and being sent some advice I got meself an Ultrafire 501B red, batteries, charger, replacement lens and reflector thingy and set about modding it tnite to use on the rimfire. The beam in the house started like this out of the packet with a lot of spill

Swapped the lens, blacked out the reflector and trimmed it down to fit nicely and tightened the beam up nicely

Sits on top of the WMR a treat and is so light you don't know it's there. I tested it through the scope and it lit up a tree 100yds away no bother so will see how it goes on the bunnies tmoro night

I've ordered a 850NM IR drop in off the bay just to see what it's like with my Gen3 spotter and the NVRS NV scope so will update when that arrives from China,Stratts

Do you know if it will be invisible or will you see a light without NV?
A neighbor hunts pigs with an invisible IR plugged into a rubber tube on the scope eyepiece and uses a cheap (ALDI) NV to see the crosshairs to line up on target.... He always comes home with pigs....

If you look directly at the torch you'll see a faint red glow at the source but there'll be no visible beam as such unless you're looking through nv.

I reckon Stratts above is going to get a lot more range than 100yrds with gen 3...

Please don't look directly at the torch. The infra Red light can damage your eyesight permanently.

Thanks! All I could find so far for an invisible IR illuminator is 600+ euro... Any cheaper options? I have several of the cree LED lights (2of the 501b's also). Tried a google search on the drop in piece, but nothing turned up. If it is as simple as just a different insert, that would be great.
