What 9.3 would that be Karamojo, 9.3x62, 9.3x72r or 9.3x74r?

It's the calibre of the shooter that counts not the calibre of the rifle.

Hi 8x57 - That would be 9.3x62 mauser, my appologies for not being very specific. I think (after a range session yesterday) that I may have a large chamber and I am hoping that a neck sizing may solve the problem. Sooting with N135 at near max loading of 56gns???????? I can only assume a large chamber (first time I have experianced this) I will check a round before and after with a micrometer, but I am not going to be able to get there for a while as it is over an hour away.
Do you use one of the 9.3's?
    Regards - K

Yes I use a 9.3x74r but in a break action rifle. I did think of ordering a 9.3x74r neck sizing die from Lee but my experience with a collet die in the 8x57irs makes me think that neck sizing isn't perhaps a good idea in break action rifles because of the lack of caming action that a bolt action has.You might just get lucky with the 9.3x62 but I would think that neck sizing dies in that calibre would be pretty rare.

Have you tried just backing off the die a touch so that only the neck of the case contacts the die?
Isn't N135 a bit fast for this cartridge?
I take it that it is a 220grn bullet that you are loading, perhaps it is just that the powder isn't best suited to the load.

Hi- I think I will have to order a neck die via the states. I am not even sure it will cure the problem, if it is over sized? The N135 is between BLC2 and H4895 in terms of burn rate. And is listed in the Vhit manual for the 258gn RWS H-Mantel bullets, with a max of 57.6gns of N135. I am using/trying to develop a load for the 255gn Geco, I have lots if you want to try some in your 9.3x74. I have 25 232gn norma vulkans also. But I want to make sure all is well before trying them so as not to waste them. If the chamber does turn out to be over sized I have a tikka barrel in that caliber to go on to the fn action.

    Regards - K

I take it that is the TM bullet and not the Plus bullet? I would like to try them sometime, can I ask where you sourced them from as they sound quite interesting and presumably the supplier can also source the same bullets in 8mm.
