Gee I reckon you could just about buy a new rifle or at least buy a mint pre owned Z for much the same price here.

Recently got a quote for pre chambered pre threaded Lothar Walther Barrels to fit Mauser 98. Price 189 Euro, problem is they are in Germany.
    Just needs head spacing.
I have a LW 308 on my Mauser and it is extremely accurate.

Not a proper hijack, but apologies anyway. Does anybody import Zastavas into this country or has CZ pretty much sewn up the reasonably priced '98 clone? I do realise that the Zastava is far closer to the original in design.

    Thanks,

    David.

Indirectly as Remington's Model 798 (if that is what it is called is a Zasatava) and there was a guy who styled his website as BRNO GUNS or BRNO UK or CZ GUNS or some such who imported them I believe and the Yugoslavian CZ99 which was a copy of the Czech BRNO Model 2 and later Model 452. Sorry it is all a bit vague but websearch and I think you'll find it.

Pic of the LW brochure and price list. These barrels are replacement barrels for 98's, chambered and threaded.
I have the #720 on my Mauser in 308.
In the table the chambers/barrel profile with black dot are supposed to be on the shelf no excuses from the smith about wait...production etc.
The price I gave in an earlier post is from a different source.

Thanks enfield I didn't know that Remington imported and rebadged the Zastava, I knew that they rebadged Baikals but not Zastava 98s. Funny how the Zastava 98 has always been looked down on in this country but in France for instance it is highly regarded and prices tend to reflect this. All the Zastava 98s that I have seen have been good solid rifles of traditional construction. I wish you guys wouldn't keep coming up with such subjects because it prompts me to go looking for one.
It's the calibre of the shooter that counts not the calibre of the rifle.
