    An alternative to Ceracoat and Duracoat

    Bought an a ASE Ultra SL5 for my 308.I didn't like the brushed alloy look on my blue/black barrel.Sourced a aerosol that heat resistant to 600 c.

    Is this a two-pack paint and is it oven cured..

    I used some matt black exaust paint to revamp my pump action worked a treat looks like brand new

    Keep me posted with how it lasts. Am interested if it works. I was considering using wood stove paint to do mine but not sure how it would turn out and its a big price tag if it goes t*ts up !

    It maybe heat proof but what about chips and scratches

    More to the point is it solvent and weather resistant and designed for use on Firearms? The others certainly are, which why I use them.
    I've tried so many different coatings over the years and I wouldn't use anything else.

    I used Duracoat out of a can 4.99 Home Base it could do with a coat now 4 years on but still looks good just a few scraps off wire fences etc.
    It has seen a lot of work.

    Not sure about firearms but I will keep you posted.The product is designed for exhaust manifolds.

    I would imagine the exhaust will see more work than 99 % of firearms
