    sierra (308 cal) 150 grain spbt load data please lads

    Hi Lads

    Ive tryed all sorts of 308 bullet combos (cant stop tatting lol), but im thinking of going back (and stop tatting for good)to the sierra 150 grain spbt gameking , as my do it all bullet.

    my barrel is a 20 inch barrel (browning xbolt), i would like to get the max speed i can for my 20 incher, but without going silly or dangerous.

    so if the task was you can only use this bullet only and you want to get the best velocity for a 20 inch barrel, what combo would you use

    bullet= 150 grain sierra spbt------set

    case = laupa 308 (54.4 H20 capacity)---------set

    variables would would you use lads
    \/

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    OAL = ???????--------------------what would you use?????

    Powder and grains = ????????----------------- what would you use?????

    Primer = ???????????--------------------------what would you use????

    Thanks for your help lads

    If you pm me ill run a few numbers through quickload I've never reloaded for 308 but guessing vvn150, varget or one of the 4350 would be ok

    44gr N140 at book oal gives 2780fps or thereabouts. Cant see any reason to pish about getting another maybe 200fps as with this load and not going on the grog the night before I can shoot a ragged hole at 100yds with this through my brnozkk601.
    Why would you want to be getting the greatest speed you can at the expense of perhaps accuracy~?

    Had two node points from my 20 inch barrel using N140. 44gr and 46.4gr. Chose the higher as shot flatter out to 200yards. 1ibch up at 100yards only gave a drop of 1.5 inch at 200 yards and still carrying 1800ftlbs. As to length start at 2.810 and go up or down to suit. Mine likes 2.790
