Hello folks, anyone on here shoot the .223 AI?

Any pros / cons of shooting the .223 AI?

- Does it come close to .22-250 performance?
- Can you shoot factory .223 through an AI chamber?

Be interested to hear your thoughts folks.

ai is just more powder and revised neck eney 223 uses a lot less powder than 22-250 uses 243 cartrige with revised neck and a hole lot more powder than 223 so zips along go 22-250 or better still 243 and 60g vmax then you can varmint shoot to big deer with the same caliber

Actually the 22-250 is the 250-3000 savage necked down to 22.

If you are thinking 223ai, think about fast twists and heavy bullets.

If you are only going to run 55 gr bullets and 12 or 14 twists, the 22/250 tanks the 223.

Thanks folks, some interesting thoughts. So, shooting 60+ gr slugs be worth considering the 223 AI.

Anyone shoot .223 in their .223 AI?

More to ponder.

Depending on what you want to shoot and if you are only going to shoot upto 70 grain bullets, have a look at the 20 cals. The 204 trumps..223/.223AI and the .22-250 when it comes to trajectory and wind drift.

Best thing I ever did was re-tube my 22250 with a 27" 1-9 twist barrel, shoots 75gr amax very well and I can hit my fox gong at 600m with ease. awesome and they blow foxes up nicely. has masses more energy downrange then a 243 or 22250 with standard loads. (beyond 300m)
