    Tikka 595/695 Tactical Bolt Handle

I decicded the other week to have my bolt cut in a 6 twist barley pattern so off I went to John Carr Rifles in Doncaster. It make no difference to the performance but god it looks good.

When I picked it up we where talking about tactical bolt handles as I had been looking for one and had only been able to find them for the Tikka T3's.

He said if I left my bolt with him he would take some measurements down and have a go at making a batch of them as they don't seem readily available for the Tikka M595/M695.

Well he dropped it off for me this morning and I am very happy with the results.

Here are a few pictures of the finished bolt.

That looks really good! Do you think it will collect dirt in the grooves and possibly transfer it to the chamber? Just a thought because as I say I think it looks really nice. Regards sbm

The big nob Steve is just what I was born with only joking mate I think they are around £70.

The bug. Yes and it got worse yesterday mate when I was game shooting and had a munty come running past me, only ten yard or so from me. I was shocked to see it run through some 4'' stock fencing.
Anyway had a word with the keeper and have to ring him after the season and the best thing is, it's close.

Happy New Year To You Both

I think £70 to own a big nob isn't too bad. And I know MR Carr does quality work so it may be a trip over with my bolt.
With regards to the munty....... any white vans in the vicinity ? lol

It was possible to order oversize bolt knobs from Tikka themselves at one time. Not sure if that is still an option now but I would suppose so as they are easily fitted.
It's the calibre of the shooter that counts not the calibre of the rifle.
