Success: The hunt for the lesser spotted West Country Cerakoter

For some time there have been rumours of a Cerakoter nesting in the West Country.

Adamant and I decided to have a concerted effort to confirm or deny rumours and I am happy to report we have just come back from a successful tracking expedition, finding a newly active roost in our home county of Herefordshire.

Pictures of the little fella's work to follow.......

I was told who it was last week by someone who is thinking that his "firm" may possibly be putting some business their way but I have forgotten already who they are. When I see the guy again I will ask for you.

fibrewad that's definitely not the company that was hinted at.
It's the calibre of the shooter that counts not the calibre of the rifle.

The firm are called Tactical Coatings and are based just outside Hereford. They are 'Official', approved trained Cerakote and Hydrographics applicators. They are not an open shop - by appointment only, as they do some rather specialist applications.

Section 161 of the Highways Act 1980 (England & Wales) makes it an offence to discharge a firearm within 50 ft of the centre of a highway with vehicular rights without lawful authority or excuse, if as a result a user of the highway is injured, interrupted or endangered.

You've given the game away now Eric. Well at least you've just saved me an email to the guy who mentioned them to me.

So here's my ongoing project in it's new livery. Chris and Jay at TC were keen to get a good match of colour for the rifle and recommended picking the grey out of the laminate to blend. I'm absolutely delighted with the attention to detail they have given. For those that know the GRS stocks, the LoP and Comb adjusters are chromed, and so stand out, so they've stripped these back and coated in the same colour to blend it in. Barrel, action and bolt are done and my after market thread cap once stainless, is now all but invisible. Small blemishes on the barrel were polished back before coating and are now no more. The bolt is now much tighter and slicker and will get better as the Cerakote polishes.

I'm delighted and very impressed with the quality of work.

    Sorry Mike...!!

On the basis of the work I've seen, they deserve more than an honourable mention!
