It has taken me a long time to finally get the .222 exactly the way I wanted it, but at last its complete.

Remington 722 action with 700 bolt release modification.
Douglas premium barrel cut to 18 inches and re-crowned.
Rifle basix trigger.
Sako style extractor.
Pillar bedded into Boyds laminate stock.
Action, barrel, bolt handle, trigger guard, cerakoted matt black.

Many thanks to JaggerSA and Thar for their help.

It`s a good job that Remmys are cheap, cause most of the original gun ends up in the bin !

That looks a very cool gun bud :D

haha, your absolutely right .. . . I always think standard remingtons are a bit like marmite, you either love them or hate them.

Decent enough actions but i'm struggling to think of anything much else I like about them.

Glad you got it as you want it !

I have a 722 in 222 also !

Mine was purchased new by my maternal grnadfather in 1958 . When he passed it came to me along with a Weaver K-10 he also bought at the same time in Weaver mounts .

I carefully removed the scope and placed it in the safe . Worked the trigger down to 12 ounces , shimmed the action up in the stock so the barrel was free floated then took it out and shot several 1/4" 3 shot groups at 100 yards . Oh I also mounted a 1970's Redfield 6-18 on top .

Gun suits me as is and can easily be returned to the way I recieved it .

Having seen it in the metal it is a fine looking rifle , and coming from me who is no a particular remmy fan.
