Read in the paper this morning that Mr Salmond's Government are proposing bringing in compulsary microchipping in Scotland in an attempt to promote responsible dog ownership and address the attacks by dogs on persons and other animals. As usual this will be more legislation and cost that the already responsible law abiding dog owner will comply with and the types who own unpredictable and aggressive dogs will not bother their jacksie whilst the baby is left to look after Satan the Rottie.
Strangely enough I later opened my emails to see that the Animal Welfare Branch of the Agriculture, Food and Rural Communties Directorate had been sent me consulation papers on this subject. ( This is what happens when you write to them regularly about tail docking).
Anybody who wishes to be part of the consulation and submit their thoughts here is the link. Fill your boots.
