Thread: Recommendation for Highland Estate

    Recommendation for Highland Estate

Evening all. I am looking for a holiday destination in the highlands where the estate could accommodate both red deer stalking (for yours truly and my son) and horse riding (for wife and daughter). Ideally in spectacular scenery with nice lodgings. Any suggestions would be gratefully received, hearing your personal experiences of the estates would be fantastic Aiming for a week in Oct 2014 !
    Cheers

If you want stags, check out Corrour estate. Went there with friends for a week on hinds in Nov. 2005 but as far as I know they don't let hind stalking any longer....wonderful land, horses, has it's own railway station & excellent accomodation.
South east of Ben Nevis & incorporates some of Rannoch moor. ATB

Try Glentannar estate in Aberdeenshire. There is stalking, fishing, shooting and horse riding in wonderful scenery

    Hi Simon
    Happy New Year!
My personal recommendation would be Alvie near Aviemore, good website at http://www.alvie-estate.co.uk/. The estate has lots of different accommodation options, great stalking and it's own riding stables.

This is a very picture post card estate ,in a remote area of Scotland and could cater for certainly some of your requirements .
If your into fishing this estate will tick all the boxes.

+ 1 for Corrour, worked there for a year.
Great stalking and they have good Icelantic Ponies.

+1 Glentannar, Royal Deeside, stunning, better chance of the ladies staying dry.
