Hi All, anybody ever taken a rifle to Canada and how much hassle was it. Got a friend going who needs to take his rifle and was asking if I knew anybody who has ever done it.
Thanks in advance.

Apart from the normal issue with airline;

I have experience of turning up in Vancouver, British Columbia. You clear immigration and collect your normal baggage. Go to Customs and tell them you have a rifle (airline details etc. It will be delivered to them anyway)
They check your FAC, you pay your $25 for a temporary permit, they give you your rifle and your on your way.

The temporary permit allows you to purchase ammunition and rifles. No need for a slot on your FAC but you have to take the rifle out of Canada. Down to you how you are going to get it back without a slot and airline handling requirements ;)
