Personal drought broken

The rifle of a lifetime - far better than I deserve or in truth, really need.
Why shouldn`t you have it?
You worked for it, you saved for it. Fair play to you.
And well done on a succesfull stalk.
I have a Z6i topping off my Steyr, i haven`t shot a deer in god knows how long but when i got made redundant i decided i`d treat myself. My mrs had no objections and if i didn`t buy it then i probably wouldn`t have the chance again.
You only live once and you are a long time dead.

Ahhh. Rifle porn:

30-06 Ackley Improved, 27.25" Walther fluted super match grade barrel to Bowers' own profile, blueprinted Remington 700 long action, McMillan A5 stock, pillar and metal bedded, S&B PMII 4-16X50 with P4 fine illuminated reticle on Picatinny rail. Shoots 125 grn Ballistic Tips at 3,400 fps to .25 MOA and weighs 12.25 Lbs.

....and it's no doubt wasted on me.

:)

Nice one! I have seen a few of Mr Bowers rifles and they look very good. Does the BT hold up at that velocity? My 30-06 used to explode with 125gr BT.

Steve's attention to detail is extraordinary. No wonder he is so thin. He puts a bit of himself into every rifle he builds.

On the basis of a fox and two deer so far, the effects of the round are...emphatic.
