SNP ministers warn lairds about need for 'radical' redistribution of Scottish land - Telegraph
Really?!? What does everyone else think? I'm no pro independence but that's not saying the idea does not strikes at some of the right cords in my heart. BUT! One of the biggest arguments I've heard for independence is to take the decision making powers from Westminster and give them back to Scotland, for my neck of the woods, the Scottish environmental ministers remarks are about as detracted from highland life as any made in London - we would only loose out if a "radical redistribution of land" occurred.
And how do we come about such shifts in landowner ship? What legal right could the government have to force major landowners to give any of it up? Will it make life better for the average working man? No. Will it appeal to the uninformed masses, probably. Will it make life considerably easier for certain local and national authorities to do as they please, oh yes...
I smell a stinking, political agenda of a rat hiding beneath all of this.
