was out today doing a bit of practise on a gong at 300yds . now if my scope adjusts 0.5cm each click at a 100yds how many would it need to move it 100mm at 300yds ? being a bit thick but a bit new to target turrets
thanks for any help

it's helpful if you forget linear distance at target and re calibrate your mind to think in angles , so in your case above it would be 3.5mils , so 7 clicks on a .5mil scope

Tackb has just missed the 300y target!
back to sniper school for you.. Metric boy

I'll hazard not ? I was explaining to the op in simple terms and would have confused him if i'd said 274m(I knocked of the last 32cm,didn't think it was required)

I would suggest that the op would be better off working in one style either imperial or metric , mixing them up is adding more room for error ?

never been to sniper school as i'm not a sniper , i'm a hairy arsed crane engineer that likes shooting .............

thanks for the help
so am i right in saying that for every 100yds i add 5mm on to each click
so 1 click at 400yds would be 20mm and 25mm at 500yds and so on ??

Basically yes your right

you will probably find that it's .5mil (5mm) at 100m , find out because as the range extends the errors will increase
