Has the .270 seen better days

    Hi Guys

Has the .270 cal popularity dropped off, every gunshop I have been in recently have more than one secondhand 270 up for sale at really keen prices.

308 seems to be the bees knees ????????

i wouldnt say so , think its mostly the older models thats in the shops as the synthetic stock is getting more popular , i had to travel up to perth to get a decent one

How many secondhand .308s and .243s did they have as well? Could be that it's more popular than thought, so more secondhand kit coming onto the market.

The question should really be aimed at someone selling their .270 ie why are you selling, and what, if anything, are you buying instead? Could be another .270

people buy stuff that does the same job because its different not always because it works better

    6.5x47, .260, 6.5x287, .284, 7mm

they all do something similar or bits of the same but none do the same across the board without negatives

+1 bewsher. Think your right, My thoughts funnily enough. I have 6.5 x 55. and .308. Never needed to change both good all rounders for me.

22-250 and 270 just seem to be loads on every gunsmiths shelves

People just can't leave the 270win alone. There is a fascination with the calibre. People just want to find a reason not to own or use one. I have one and see no reason to part with it just yet.

I am yet to own one, ive had 30-06,25-06,6.5-06, only the 270 and 6mm 06 left
