I use NFU Mutual about 330 per year for two working HWV's. Whoever you use make a point to tell them that your dogs work.I had numerous quotes ,then when I told them my dogs worked they would'nt insure me .Wf1

    Hi Rob,
My Lab is insured through John Lewis (yes, I know it sounds odd) and I pay 17.38 a month for excellent cover. It makes the likes of BASC insurance look like armed robbery. The level of cover is excellent and the one claim I made in relation to a nasty eye infection, involving a specialist vetinary opthalmologist and associated fees, was settled promptly and with out any attempt to reduce my claim.
I cannot recommend them highly enough.

+1 for John Lewis, both my Weimaraner's insured with them, cost got to about 40 per month each

The dog at 7 1/2 years never had a claim until last month where he became ill over night went to the vets where it was discovered he had a ruptured tumour on his spleen, was operated on but he died. They paid vet bills and refunded original cost of the dog as he was under 9 years old. This meant over his life time his insurance cost us nothing.

The bitch at 6 years old had a pericardium effusion last year which required emergency heart surgery and a stay at Liverpool vet hospital cost over 3,000
She is now at stage 4 heart failure has been to out of hours emergency vets had 3 nights at Liverpool again, now has fortnightly blood/urine tests at our vets & monthly visits to Liverpool at approx 5 hours a time and so much medication it's unbelievable, her vet bill this year so far is in excess of 7,000.
John Lewis deal with the vets directly and promptly without any issues.
