    Sako 75 .280 Ackley Improved

    S/H Sako 75, in .280 Ackley Improved.

Stainless Border Archer barrel 23.5", Sako varmint profile, 1:8.5" twist (fitted by Border).
Macmillan A5 stock (black, olive, grey), bedded by Valkyrie Rifles,
Roedale Precision 20 moa picatinny rail,
RPA Muzzle brake (17x1mm spigot thread)

Redding dies, Leupold 30mm QRW rings, Niggloh sling and some used cases included.

    Current round count 1200 rounds.

The magazine holds 5 rounds but due to the sharp shoulder on the Ackley case it is best loaded with three to guarantee reliable feeding. Shoots 120gr Nosler BT, 168gr Berger VLD and 175gr Sierra Matchkings well. (175gr SMK also group well on a subsonic load)

There is a saddle adjustable cheek piece to fit the gun but I only found it necessary when using nightvision.

    14xxono REDUCED to 1270 ono

    SOLD PENDING PAYMENT

    (Bipod not included)

There is 400 x 7mm 175gr Sierra Matchkings also available with the gun for an extra 90.

might be worth adding that .280rem cases can be used in the .280AI and will blow out happily to the new profile.
Also that cases can be formed from .270win cases of which there is always a good supply. I know as I have 300 in my brass cupboard for mine ...

That really is a thing of beauty!! I'd buy it if I didn't already have one very similar!
Out of interest, what were you shooting with it with night vision? Long range foxes?

Thanks for all your positive comments, this has been one of the best rounds I have owned and If I wasn't planning to emigrate it would be a keeper.

MS, I only used nightvision on it when managing the occasional boar problem.

Ahh - yes! I see your location.
I would imagine that would be a very effective boar rifle!
Mine is quite similar on a Sako 75 action with a 23.5" barrel and a Macmillan stock!
If I didn't already have one, I'd be putting in a variation for yours right now!

How did you get the 270 cases to form into the 280?
