    Alabama rot

In posting a reply to a thread in the general section, I thought it may be appropriate to duplicate it in the vet section. See the link below.

Particularly as it would seem to be appearing in other areas of the country - albeit in small numbers.

I'm not sure it adds much but worry!

It's a condition that we are not sure of the causal organism and we are not sure how to treat affected dogs. It's very rare, but very bad news.

It is also conceivable that any dogs that have 'survived' were actually misdiagnosed - I'm unsure if any that have lived have had kidney histology carried out.

Section 161 of the Highways Act 1980 (England & Wales) makes it an offence to discharge a firearm within 50 ft of the centre of a highway with vehicular rights without lawful authority or excuse, if as a result a user of the highway is injured, interrupted or endangered.

my bosses shooting partner had a 8 month old lab who we had to board with is last year, we also had her for some training, she went back to him after her say and was dead two weeks later, she had Alabama rot and nothing could save her.

very sad way for a young dog to go...!
