wouldnt look big a 2000 yds ,with that great big blob of a sight ,so he couldnt tell which way round it was stood, they dont say how many boxes of rounds he launched of at it .
I expect it would be accurate so long as before you shoot, you lick your thumb then wipe the fore sight. They never miss in those old movies when they do that.
0.280 Ross was a very popular round with long range shooters. Worth looking at some of the blogs on WW1 rifles. It was fickle in the field and if rounds got dirty it could cause problems. Old Sir Charles was well ahead of his time
