    V140 in a .270

Can this be used? I can find NO data on this.

If I move to a .270, I have a 3/4 tub of V140 used for my .308 and don't want to punt it on as it's not worth what it's actually worth, does that make sense?

I also have H380, which can be used as I use that for my .243

The 2003 Sako catalogue states that the Sako factory .270 Win ammunition loaded with a 130 grain bullet used 46.3 grains of N140 for a muzzle velocity of 860 m/s.
Other than that, I can't find any data for N140 in the .270. There must be some available, particulary for the lighter bullets. I'll let you know if I find anything else.

    Vihtavouri Guide.
Very few loads for the .270 Win.

    100 grain bullet, V.140 49.4 grain = 3050 feet-per-sec.
    130 grain bullet, V.140 45.5 grain = 2850 FPS.

Both max. charges, start 10-15% down and work up, load for max. accuracy not max. velocty.

N140 is really too fast for a 270, you will have a lot of empty space in the loaded round. If you have absolutely nothing else, it will work, but you are much better of with something slower.

The problem with the VV pounders is that 3/4 of a tub is 50. Can you not swap it with someone?

In my own Carl Gustaf .270 I use 52gr of Viht. N160 fired up by a Federal 210GM Match primer with Speer 130gr SPBT or 140gr Spirepoint Hornady bullets. The 140gr prints half-an-inch higher on the target at 100 yds.

However, as Vihtavouri list the N140 giving loads for it give it a go .
You have it in stock and may find you get excellent results .
