Jewel safety

Took the plunge and upgraded my remington 700 triger with a jewel unit with safety and bolt release
Trigger is great and set a crisp 2lb but is it just me that thinks for the money they cost the safety mechanism
Feels a bit cheap and not as defined or as positive as the original unit ? ?

U know what the BASC trainers say "a safety catch is a mechanical device that sometimes works" so never rely on it? at your peril do so

I no that but when you spend £250 on a trigger that is ment to be the best you kind of expect it to be spot on in every way

I thought the same when I got mine a few years ago, but when I had a rifle made the gunsmith machined a tiny washer which went in between the safety lever and the trigger unit, it changed it completely. Before that the lever could be moved to easily, I was forever checking to make sure it was still on safe.

I will have to look into getting a washer made for it as you say it moves a little bit to easy for my likening
