    "Tier 2" Scopes

OK lads, I need a scope for my 204, can't justify the cost of another Swarovski or the like.

I want something like a Zeiss conquest or a Sightron. Minimum 20x, 50mm obj, turrets etc.

Application will be pretty strictly daylight, crows, rabbits and long range paper and steel.

For this application, what are the panels thoughts on these £600 to £800 scopes compared to those costing a grand more?
    Brian.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get you......

    Hope this helps.

Vortex or sightron I say. Sightron has slightly better glass, not so fussy on eye placement. Vortex built well, very useable, lifetime 'anything happens' warranty.

Cheers. I have the 2-12x50 on my 260, great scope but I want more magnification. The 6-24 would be fine, but I don't see the point of high mag without turrets.

Bushnell Elite range are good for the price

Shot a Bushnell 6500 tactical with military knobs at sun gone dusk and was very impressed. Same mechanism and construction as the US Mil-Spec 10x40. Major discounts online, especially since they are changing models, magnifications. Vortex Viper 6-24x50 is very sharp and clear, but to my eye, the 6500 is right there with German glass.

I used to have a 6.5-20x50 zeiss conquest with target turrets on my 204 and it was great.
The optics were very clear and the turrets worked great.
I sold it because I got offered a zeiss 6-24x56 for a great price.
I also have a sightron s111 8-32x56 moa2 with tactical turrets on my 308 which is also a great scope for long range.
My mate has just bought a sightron s111 6-24x50 moa2.
Its a really nice scope and it would be ideal for your needs.
