    Oiling a Boyds Stock

Has anyone ever oiled a Boyd's stock?

Got a lovely blue/grey laminate stock on my CZ455 and think it would be great if I can bring out the grain some more

Ive got a Boyds in pepper which is black/grey and i do believe they have a light coating of lacquer on them just to finish them off,but i gave mine a couple of coats of Colron Teak oil and it came up lovely

Did you rub the lacquer off first or just go straight in with the oil?

I put the oil strait on,yes it shouldent have penatrated the lacquer, but it did thats what makes me think it was a very light coat

I think they use truoil to seal it for transport, I've sanded a couple and used an oil finish on them.

I hate laminate so didn't like the finished product but once all the pours where seal it took a smooth finish that showed what they'd left of grain with their dyes etc.
