You can't find any data for a 50 grain bullet and H-4198?? Seriously?? Have you tried?? What loading manual are you using? It's in every current manual I own. I mean, you could go to Hodgdon's web site and look. I'm betting they have 50 grain data.~Muir

    And 4895 is a great powder for the .223. I have used it many times myself....but.... c'mon! Can't find H4198 data for a 50 grain .223?

    How about this?
Take Aim at Rifle Reloading Data | Hodgdon Reloading

I mean, I'm just a hillbilly with too many guns and internet access, and not to bright, but if I wanted Hodgdon powder data even I might look at Hodgdon's site. Lee's Modern Reloading also has 50 grain data using H4198.

Too bad you're abandoning H4198. It's a good powder for that size of a case. The world Bench Rest Record was held for a decade with a .222 using a 52 grain bullet and 18-19 grains of H4198. My old SAKO heavy barrel single shot bench gun in .223, using H4198, would pile bullets atop each other.~Muir

Why not try a powder like Viht N133 - probably easier (at the moment) to get hold of. I reload for two .223 using 50 gr V max and both group exceptionally well - besides its a nice clean burning powder.

Vit 133 gets my vote too.

Go with VV N-133. My Sako varmint shoots
one hole all day with 23.5 gr of N-133 and Hornady V-max !

I use H335 27gr with 50gr Vmax, which is very hot 3400 fps , but shoot 1 hole groups all day . I have shot rabbits rooks and magpies out to 400 yr with that load , I have also used V133 with almost the same groups
