Do any of you fine folk on the site shoot boar in Lithuania, Belarus and similar places? If so, do you know of any problems relating to African Swine Fever? (ASF is nasty, kills pigs rapidly, rapid spread, no vaccine, can't tell it from Classical Swine Fever)

Never come across anything like that, but have heard through my Hungarian friends that they have a big problem with pseudo rabies (Aujeszky's disease apparently the main risk is to beaters' dogs...

where I go in Poland , is near the Belarus border
all boar shot were being blood tested and 7 day quarantine before being vet checked prior to being released to go into the food chain

They are very concerned about it

If folk are wondering why testing before eating, it's not that the virus affects humans, but that it can survive in meat (unlike e.g. FMD which is killed by the normal pH fall as meat sets) so may present a risk to domestic pigs
