    Rest and Be Thankful

Just driven through the Rest and Be Thankful on my way back home today and noticed a new deer fence surrounding majority of the hillside from the bridge along the straight to near the Dunoon turn-off. Spent many a journey cricking my neck watching reds along this stretch of road (yes I was driving ! ), but saw none on the way out or the way back. Anyone any idea what the plans are for that area?

Most likely a native woodland scheme-with the deer numbers in that area a deer fence will be a condition and deer numbers will be heavily reduced within the fence to allow regeneration

Seen twenty eight above the fence the other week ,I wasn't driving it's going to be a bit to watch out in the winter as they seem to have left a two to three hundred meter gap between the blocks so they will be squeezed where they can cross we will need to watch out

I would say so. Seen a few dead hinds on the road already this last week, when they're hard stretched in winter it will be a massacre. Am I correct in thinking the deer can still seek shelter in the standing tree blocks, or is crossing the road their only chance for shelter?

At the moment looks like they will be able to cross
