    Blind fallow

I have just spent the morning cleaning up trophy fallow skulls. The last buck I shot was blind in one eye and as I removed the skin on that side it was peppered with shot No7. This I presume is what blinded him.
I guess one of the locals shot at him in an attempt to chase the deer off the unprotected pheasant feeders they knock over.
Dont think that in the BASC best practice guide

Are you sure it wasn't your low velocity .375 that did it ( said with tongue in check)

Sounds like you have been having a good time on the fallow mate.

    Catch up soon

Mark, sadly finding shotgun pellets in deer is far from unusual. Just goes to show what muppets are out there. I'm afraid that the shooting world (and I am talking about all sectors) has more than its fair share of idiots. JC

    i agree
being in an area which has a moderate population of muntjac, it is rare to shoot one that has not got signs of lead shot damage
but as the post is about Fallow
    that seems another case
the only way to bring a fallow to rest sensibly with a shottie is by head shot
just 7's don't really hit the mark
    i don't justify shooting a deer with a shootie,
    just wish those that do
use the right shot for the job
legal or not suffereing should be prevented at all costs

I cant stand people that are prepared to have a pop knowing they are under gunned and could loose the animal as a result

Just bloody minded cruelty in my book
