    Rook shooting

    Just had a morning after the rooks , got 39 , farmer was well happy . IT's that time of year and an ideal day to get it done , oh and it was fun as well.

    I had a good day last Saturday, ending up with a total of 151 rooks, jackdaws, crows and pigeons, shot in the space of 3 hrs.

    Were you decoying them Barnett? I shoot a sheep farm that is inundated with corvids and I find that the rooks just won't play ball to decoys whereas the crows and jackdaws will

    no the young birds ( branches ) are now in feather and hoping about on the nests and the tree tops , ( hence they are called branches at this stage),the parent birds will just keep coming to them at the moment maybe the next week or two if i'm lucky , a good time of year to control their numbers.
