    Help from the London contingent

    Folks,

One for the London members - I'm flying into Heathrow tomorrow morning at around 8:30am and need to get from there to Park Lane - whats the best way of doing this?

    Regards,

    Gixer

Tube straight to Hyde Park Corner gixer.

Look at TFL Journey Planner for more details, but should be around an hour, and you'll even get on the tube starting at heathrow! Don't try cab at that time of day

    Posh!!

Heathrow Express to Paddington then short tube journey to Marble Arch quickest I would think.

Or that one. Either way you'll get there.

By and large, in London public transport, the most direct way is the fastest. I'd take the Tube.

Where on Park Lane? It's important information as one end is Marble Arch and the other is Hyde Park Corner.

I do that journey frequently, so my suggestions would be:

Chief Executive: Taxi from Heathrow to Park Lane
Expense Account: Heathrow Express to Paddington, then taxi to Park Lane
Cheaper but weather-dependent: Heathrow Express to Paddington, then walk to Park Lane (it's a lovely walk through Hyde Park)
Cheaper: Heathrow Express to Paddington, then tube to Hyde Park Corner (Bakerloo Line to Oxford Circus - Victoria Line to Green Park - Piccadilly Line to Hyde Park)
Cheapest: Piccadilly Line direct from Heathrow to Hyde Park Corner

P.S. From Paddington you could also hire a "Boris" bike if the weather's nice and you're feeling lucky!

Thanks folks, its actually in the middle (Grosvenor) so i'll probably just go for the simplest way which sounds like the tube, how much will that cost per person just out of interest and can I pay by card? (haven't been on the tube for a year or two!)

Thanks again for the info so far...

Think I may pop into the Beretta gallery for a look while there!

Yes, you can pay by card, but buy an Oyster card and load it with a tenner, don't pay the cash fair. It'll pay for itself within a return trip. They're actually going to stop issuing paper tickets shortly.
