First deer spotted in my new locale

I've just recently moved house, not exactly the middle of nowhere but it's a smallish village surrounded by a mix of arable and pasture. Just far enough from the urban fringes to be rural.
Anyway, driving home with the wife tonight down one of the small lanes and she says "oh, I keep seeing a lovely clock pheasant along here on the verge" so keeping my eyes peeled we round the next corner and there's a roe in the middle of the lane, just calmly crossing. Didn't even seem to notice us approaching 200 yards off, just disappeared through a little gap in the hedge minding her own business. Lovely to see there are now deer (along with a plethora of other wildlife already spotted) less than 10 minutes from home.
Now to try and make some contacts...
