I think the winner needs to man up?
(the Polish milk maid would do for me).
Time it was scrapped forever?

I think it's a great laugh and would be sorry to see it go. As scudd says, you can't take it seriously.

I have scrapped it forever!

Utter trash IMHO of course.

Don't know of anyone who will admit to watching it either? but Ideal content for the BBC to broadcast prime time. :old:

Total pile of cr-p , the Beeb are wasting our license fee on this indescribeable excuse for a show . Can it forever !

:old:

It has everything but good music as in:

1. Funny. (Did you see the guy fall over in the hamster wheel??)
2. Bizarre. (And I don't just mean the inclusion of non European States!)
3. Satirical.
4. Politically incorrect(ish).
5. Judging that is preferable to Eastern Europe genocide.

Oh, and I watched it without a single 'fight' with my 12-year old Daughter!

At least by continually not winning we ensure we won't ever have to pay for hosting it!
I think it's a good laugh, but it certainly isn't a good song contest. Nobody can deny iit's entertaining, even if for a the wrong reasons.

I only caught the voting, but it's good fun, I enjoy it, and it evolves over time with a greater variety of tastes and cultural preferences. I still don't think France deserved to came last though. I mean it's not Brel, but apart from the fact that they sang in French and thereby stopped most viewers from appreciating the not-very-profound satire on consumerism, it just wasn't that bad.

As to those who say it's rubbish and should be scrapped, well just don't watch it. I think that the UK expects that we have some sort of right to win it, but we're just an archipelago off the end of the continent which is as culturally idiosyncratic as everywhere else.

Apparently well over 100 million people watched the show.

As for wasting the licence fee income, there are much more serious abuses of the money than spending it on that.

Anyway, having just watched the polish milkmaids video, there will be one additional viewer next year!! hubba hubba
